Camp Hickory Hill is committed to providing in-person summer camp sessions to children with diabetes between the ages of 7-17 this summer. The planning for our program is underway, and we are excited to serve our diabetes community once again face to face. To ensure this happens safely, we are implementing two new requirements to keep our campers and volunteer staff as healthy as possible. Due to the continued high spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) throughout the United States, we have deliberated with our Medical Director & Board of Directors, about what precautions we should take to protect our campers and staff.
1) Campers & Staff will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before camp begins. Covid vaccines are required for all volunteer staff members and campers due to the current nature of COVID-19.
2) In addition to vaccination, each staff member & camper must provide proof of a negative COVID test (PCR based test is what our medical team will allow) performed at least 72 hours prior to arriving at camp
Our main goal is to make sure Camp Hickory Hill serves your child in the safest way possible. Our camp medical director & camp leadership support these new measures to ensure camp will continue to thrive, even under the uncertainty of COVID-19.
